Role

The Moshal Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Coordinator to champion the
well-being and success of our Moshal Scholars. The role, centred on the needs of our students,
primarily involves providing psycho-social support, facilitating training programs, and nurturing vital
partnerships with relevant partners. The role places students at the heart of its mission, aiming to
create a nurturing and empowering environment for our students.

The key responsibilities include

  1. Offer individual and group support to students, ensuring their emotional well-being and academic success.
  2. Facilitate integration of new scholars into the program and lead the selection process for
    scholarships.
  3. Establish and nurture relationships with university Financial Aid and Admissions Departments
    to streamline support for Moshal Scholars.
  4. Cultivate collaborations with partner NGOs, private and public organisations, and foundations
    in the region to expand resources and opportunities for our students.
  5. Identify suppliers for the implementation of training programs that meet the unique needs of
    Moshal Scholars in the region.
  6. Organise events and activities that foster a sense of belonging and support among Moshal
    Scholars, including the annual Event.
  7. Collaborate with students and universities to gather essential academic and performance
    data for effective tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
  8. Contribute to the budgeting processes, as required.
  9. Represent the Moshal Program at partner events within the region, emphasising the impact
    on student lives.
  10. Oversee administrative tasks related to university operations, ensuring efficient functioning
    and updates on the CRM.
  11. Collaborate closely with the SA Country Manager, the Careers Coordinator, and fellow
    Student Coordinators to provide comprehensive support to Moshal Scholars.

Candidate Profile

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in any related field of study
  • At least 10 years of experience as a student coordinator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent people and team skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Self-motivated to work alone or in a team as necessary.
  • Able to manage a range of tasks simultaneously
  • Passionate about education and improving the lives of underprivileged students.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and experience or willingness to learn CRM

Terms

  • Based in Durban
  • Full time and flexible working arrangements and leave
  • Willingness to travel quarterly within country and 1-2 x per year overseas
